Worshiping in a manner that is meaningful for you.

We support the following local mission activities:
  • Calvary Mission
  • Community Food Cupboard

During the month of April we will be collecting pasta for Calvary Mission.

On April 18th we will celebrate Peace with Justice Sunday. Peace with Justice empowers United Methodists to work for peace, love and compassion for God’s children everywhere.

Thanks to Steve Bodo, Barb Kmetko and Pat Matchett for helping promote UMCOR One Great Hour of Sharing.

HEALTH KITS

The Love Offering for the Tuscarawas District U.M.W. will be Health Kits, which are very much in demand for areas where disasters occur. So far 350,000 kits have been dispersed in Haiti. Many more are needed along with baby layettes.

We will be assembling these kits in April so we can get them onto trucks at annual conference - this will be free shipping to the distribution center in Sager Brown,

Louisiana.

The following items are needed:

1 hand towel (15”x25” up to 17”x27”). No kitchen towels.

1 washcloth.

1 comb (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized).

1 nail file or fingernail clipper (no emery boards or toenail clippers).

1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up).

1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper, no child-size brushes).

6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages.

$2 to cover the cost of toothpaste (to be purchased later by UMCOR) and for costs to ship kits to another country.

Items must be new. No substitutions, please. Items can be placed in the Church office.

MISSION TRIP

The Mission Trip will start when you like and end when you like. We will contract with persons or organizations about what services are needed and when they can be done.

We will have a project board to view and sign up. Some services may take one day, some may take more. You can go when you want and come back when you want. You may sleep in your own bed.

If you have suggested projects, let the Mission team know.

We will officially start the first week in June when we can hopefully have warmer weather.

The history and significance of the Cross and Flame emblem are as rich and diverse as The United Methodist Church. Following more than two dozen conceptualizations, a traditional symbol—the cross—was linked with a single flame with dual tongues of fire. The resulting insignia is rich in meaning. It relates The United Methodist church to God through Christ (cross) and the Holy Spirit (flame).
